Our Worship Services:
8:00 & 10:30 Sunday Mornings
The 8:00 is a traditional service accompanied by the organ. The 10:30 service is a more contemporary/informal praise service accompanied by the guitar and keyboard.Communion is celebrated on first, third and fifth Sundays of each month. Nursery Care provided.Our worship is reverent yet relevant, traditional yet simple.The worship is EASY to follow with everything printed out in the worship folder.

Our Family
Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church is a young, growing, richly diverse family of Christians who have come together in a close, caring community centered in Jesus Christ. We are small enough to care but large enough to serve! Proud to be a part of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, we warmly embrace people from all religious and cultural backgrounds. Our preaching is boldly biblical, our theology traditional and conservative, our ways evangelical, our attitude caring and embracing. We invite you to join with us in serving and praising the Savior!

Our Pastor
Dr. Allen Kolkman is a native Californian, born in Oxnard and raised inVentura,and still loves beach towns. He began attending church as a teen,participating in various evangelical churches before joining the Lutheranchurch at the age of 18.
He received his B.A. cum laude from California Lutheran University,majoring in History and Religion. He received his Masters of DivinityDegree in 1977 from Concordia Lutheran Seminary and his Doctor of MinistryDegree in 1990 from Faith Lutheran Seminary.
His training also included ministry as a hospital chaplain in Santa Monicaand then an internship (vicarage) in San Jose. It was there that he metand married his wife, Debbie in 1976. Together, they have two daughters,Kristine and Amanda, both grown now. They make their home own close to thechurch in Oceanside. Pastor Kolkman has served as our Pastor at Shepherd of the Valley since 1980, for 10 years as a missionary and since 1990 as our pastor.
