Sunday School
Sunday School is offered year around for children 3 through adult beginning at 9:15. Parents are welcomed to attend the classes with their children (this is encouraged in the younger grades for the first week or so). There is no fee or need to pre-register. Children from the community are welcomed!
Family Fellowship
Shepherd of the Valley also provides opportunities for our family to draw closer to one another and to our friends and neighbors. There is a "fellowship time" after all worship services with coffee, juice and goodies. This is to provide a time especially for getting aquainted and supporting one another. There is also an event monthly or so to supply an opportunity for fellowship. Examples of these have been potlucks, mother's and father's day events, picnics, bowling, progressive dinners, valentine's dinners, a special "Thankfeast Dinner" each year just before Thanksgiving, a special Easter Brunch on that holy day, and so forth. These are open to the entire community.
Youth Ministries
Our youth ministries are for those in the 6th-12th grades. They meet on the first Sunday of each month from for a "Youth Rally" at the church. This includes dinner together, Bible Study, Christian music, fun stuff, support and prayer. Once a month, they also have a service project or a fun outing (bowling, ice skating, decorating floats for the Rose Parade, etc.). During the summer, they meet at the beach each week. The entire community is invited; participants need not be members of the church.

Statements of Faith from our Youth!
  • I believe that God is with us 24/7 and even though it may not seem like it at times.  If you need a friend or someone to lean on God is there.  Maybe not physically, but spiritually with the bible and friends and family.
  • I believe that we are going to heaven because Jesus died for us and he is always with us.  He is AWESOME!
  • I believe that through faith in Jesus, we will be blessed with eternal life and happiness.
  • I believe that God keeps me safe from all harm.  He makes it so that I don't have to fear.
  • I believe that through faith in Jesus and that he died to save us, we will have eternal life in heaven because of Gods amazing love and grace.
  • God is loving.  His love flows through us.  He is there for you always.  A friend, a brother, a father, loving and caring.  His mercy has no end.  He has a purpose for you and a reason for all that happens.  In your darkest dreams, in your highest highs, he is with you, showing you the way.  Through you, his mercy will spread to others like yourself.  Come except Gods love.  Let him change you.  You are not alone.
Bible Study
Currently, we have the following opportunities for Bible study:
Sunday 9:15 AM At the church. A study of various books of the Bible with Dr. Kolkman
Wednesday 6:30 PM At the home of the Kolkmans. An informal study of practical Christianity. It includes dinner.
Thursday 9:30 AM At the church. Various topics are shared here.
Saturday (first and third) 9:00 AM At the Church. A men's study/fellowship group (Breakfast Provided).

Others are being planned. Please email the church for more information.
Confirmation Classes
Shepherd of the Valley schedules Youth Confirmation for the 7th grade. It is an extensive one year program involving about 40 hours of class instruction and 40 hours of volunteer ministry. Youth from the community are welcomed. Adult Confirmation seminars are held several times a year, call or email for the next scheduled meeting.
Service
Shepherd of the Valley supports the Oceanside Service Center in various ways and has an additional food pantry. We support various community service ministries such as BirthChoice.
